Other Supplies You Will Need: Hand towels, Q-tips, scissors, matchsticks or toothpicks (to clean ear wax debris out of tip of ear cone after use), ear oil or ear drops, lighter, and a bowl of water. Usage Procedure: Have the person receiving the ear cleansing lie on their back, and tilt head slightly away from the ear to be coned. Place, water and other supplies near to hand. You may cut an oblong hole in a towel and place it over the person’s head exposing only the ear to be coned. Light the wide end of the cone and gently place the narrow end of the cone into the ear opening and rotate cone gently to insure a good seal. If smoke leaks from the bottom of the ear cone after lighting rotate and rock the cone until it stops smoking to insure a vacuum is created to pull out the ear wax. Allow the ear cone to burn down about 1.5 to 2 inches, then remove the ear cone from the ear and use the scissors to cut the cone just below the fire. Let the cut off piece fall into the pan filled with water. Clean the ear wax out of the inside of the ear cone, and gently clean the ear with a Q-tip, Be careful DO NOT push ear wax debris into the ear! Repeat ear coning process until there are 3 or 4 inches of cone remaining. After completed with a ear cone, you may cut remaining cone lengthways to observe ear wax debris removed and cleaned from ear.
