- Used for varicose veins
- Support healthy circulation
- Extract provides aescin
In Europe, Horse Chestnut has been used to treat varicose veins and water retention. Horse Chestnut extract (sometimes called Hippocastani semen) is made from the seeds of Aesculus hippocastunam, a member of Hoppocastanaceae family. Herbalisists use bark from young branches because older bark is poisonus. Horse Chestnut extract provides aescin, a saponin that has been shown to support healthy circulation, especially in the legs. Aescin promotes healthy tone to the veins of the lower extremities. It is also used for diarrhea, enlarged prostate, fever, hemorrhoids, phlebitis (vein inflammation), Varicose veins and Horse Chestnut Supports Healthy Circulation in the legs.
